Canada started the new year quite well with 34 funding deals in January. Some of the most notable transactions were from Corus Entertainment that acquired Shaw Media for $2.65 billion and Zymeworks, a Vancouver-based startup that raised $61.5 million from Institutional Investors, BDC Capital, Lumira Capital.
