Applications accepted beginning now, for work experiences beginning on or after April 1, 2016.
Having benefited 41 youth since the its launch in 2014, the Quebec Apparel and Textile Career Focus Program is an initiative from Apparel Connexion to help Quebec SMEs in Apparel and Textiles industries hire the talent they need. The program is funded in part by Service Canada under the Youth Employment Strategy, and offers salary subsidies of up to $16,000 per participant.
What the Program Gives Recent Graduates
- The skills to enter the apparel and textile job market
- A learning environment to make the transition into the job market
- Coaching and feedback on their output
What the Program Gives Employers
- New talent with reduced financial risk
- Access to a pool of young professionals
- Increased possibility of hiring a permanent worker
Conditions
- Must be full time positions (30 hours per week minimum)
- Candidates must be:
o post-secondary graduates (college or university)
o work in their field of study
o between 15-30 years of age (inclusively)
o out of school
o Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee status in Canada
o legally entitled to work in Canada
o not be beneficiaries of Employment Insurance
- Program is not intended for existing employees (i.e. the program applies to new hires only)
- Space is limited and subsidies available on a “first come first served” basis
Eligible positions may include: information technology application (e.g.: marker making, e-commerce, web), industrial or mechanical engineering, production machinery repair and maintenance, production supervision and management (assistant), quality assurance, design (using a CAD station), financial/accounting and so on.

o Attestation Form: to be completed and signed by employer
o Apparel Connexion’s Application Form: to be completed and signed by employer
o English or French copy of diploma (post-secondary)
o Official document providing date of birth (birth certificate, passport, driver’s license)
o Resume/CV
