Are you looking to infuse some young energy and spirit to your new venture? You can do this through the new MaRS Embark Funding, which targets the employment of young individuals.
The new Embark Funding, released on September 22, 2014, enables novel Ontario-based technology ventures to hire young professionals within their organization. This competitive funding program is only available for an enterprise based out of Ontario an is currently a client of the Regional Innovation Centre (RIC). the company must be either pre-revenue or generating less than $1 million in revenue per year. An enterprise can hire a candidate of their choice, between the ages of 22-29 years, to become a full time employee in their upcoming venture. However, the candidate must not directly or indirectly be involved in any enterprise that is in turn directly or indirectly associated with the enterprise who apples to the Embark Funding.
Prior to allocating the funds, applications will evaluate the venture's elevator pitch, pitch deck, value proposition, revenue model, market strategy and opportunity. The venture will be expected to contribute a minimum of $2,500 or 12.5% of the requested funding towards the new hire’s development throughout their contract period.
